What is Kukui Oil?
Kukui (Aleurites Moluccanus), also known as candlenut, was brought to Hawaii by Polynesian settlers over a thousand years ago. A valued commodity. Every part of the kukui was used. The nuts are particularly prized for their oil, which is meticulously rendered and used for hair care, skin care, medicine, cooking, lighting, waterproofing and even fishing. Sustainably available, kukui nut oil works beautifully with all skin types providing a non-greasy, time-tested, natural skin protectant and hair oil.

As an emollient, kukui oil contains high levels of oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids that moisturize, nourish and improve skin and hair health. As an occlusive, kukui oil relieves dryness and acts as a moisture loss barrier. Kukui oil is also rich in vitamins A, C, and D (antioxidants), and alpha linolenic acids.
